The adoption process involves several steps: submitting an application, checking veterinary and personal references, conducting meet and greets, performing home checks, and signing an adoption contract. The adoption fee ranges from $100 to $300.

Wanda's Little Rescues in Raleigh, NC

Wanda's Little Rescue is a nonprofit organization located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome small dogs that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, particularly those in kill shelters throughout the Carolinas. We also accept strays from the streets to prevent them from entering such shelters. Additionally, we occasionally rescue dogs listed on Craigslist to protect them from potentially harmful situations. As a private, foster home-based rescue, we do not operate a public shelter for viewing our dogs. Instead, all our dogs live in foster homes until they are adopted into loving, permanent homes. Before adoption, all dogs in our care receive comprehensive veterinary care, which includes examinations, vaccinations, spaying or neutering, microchipping, and any necessary medical treatments. We carefully screen potential adopters and conduct thorough interviews to ensure they are a suitable match for our dogs. Our goal extends beyond rescue; we also aim to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, one pet at a time.
