About Us
Our Purpose
AnimalShelter.net exists to make it easier for people to connect with animal shelters, rescue organizations, lost and found pets, and adoptable animals across the United States. Our platform brings together essential information in one place so anyone can quickly find support, take action, or help reunite a missing pet with its family.
What We Offer
- Animal Shelters & Rescues: We help people locate shelters and rescue groups in every city and state, with clear and accurate details.
- Lost & Found Pets: Users can report missing pets, share found animals, and help families reconnect with the pets they love.
- Pet Adoption Search: Explore adoptable dogs and cats from shelters and rescues across the country, updated daily.
How We Organize Our Information
Our content is structured to be clear, factual, and easy to understand. We organize shelters, rescues, and adoptable pets by:
- City
- State
- Pet type (dog or cat)
- Lost vs. found reports
This approach ensures that anyone can quickly understand what AnimalShelter.net provides and how to navigate our resources.
Why This Matters
Millions of pets enter shelters each year due to abandonment, owner challenges, or simply becoming lost. These animals depend on visibility and community support. By making it easier for people to find nearby shelters, browse adoptable pets, and report missing animals, we aim to improve outcomes for pets nationwide.
Good to know: AnimalShelter.net is an independent website — we're not a shelter or rescue ourselves. Apart from organizations that have claimed and manage their own listing here, we're not affiliated with the shelters and rescues you'll find on this site. For adoption availability, hours, fees, or requirements, please reach out to the organization directly.
