Adoption Process
Our adoption process empowers the cat to choose their new guardian. Prospective guardians are required to complete an informational form and will need to wait 24 hours before taking the cat home. This waiting period allows us to verify references and contact the veterinarian.

Heartland Cats in Omaha, NE
Our primary initiative is the Senior Companion program, designed for individuals aged 65 and older. Through this program, we provide food, litter, and veterinary care for cats in exchange for a loving home. If the guardian is no longer able to care for the cat, it is returned to us. We focus on older cats that are less likely to be adopted due to age, illness, or disability. We adhere to a strict "no kill" policy, only considering euthanasia when it is necessary to prevent suffering. Additionally, we offer foster care for military personnel deployed overseas. Our Everlasting Love Program ensures that shelter is provided, as arranged by the guardian, in the event of the guardian's death.
