HomeWard Bound In The HeartLand Animal Rescue in Omaha, NE
HomeWard Bound In The HeartLand Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2009, based in Omaha, Nebraska, in Douglas County, where 8 other animal shelters or rescues are also located. Operating about 10 miles east of Omaha, this small volunteer-run rescue takes in homeless cats and dogs from local shelters, residents unable to care for their pets, and strays, placing animals with foster families while they await permanent homes. All rescued animals are examined, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered before adoption, and the organization does not discriminate based on an animal's health, age, or breed. Beyond adoption, HBITH supports spay/neuter services and TNVR efforts for the community and promises to take back any animal it has placed if the adoption doesn't work out.
