Our organization is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming basset hounds and beagles in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. We place a strong emphasis on educating the public about these breeds and promoting responsible pet ownership. In recent years, we have expanded our efforts to include the rescue and transport of dogs from as far away as Tennessee and Alabama. Our passionate team is committed to finding loving homes for hounds. Founded in Kansas over a decade ago, most of our volunteers are now based in Omaha, Nebraska. While our official address reflects Nebraska, we have not yet been able to update our listing on PetFinder, which still shows us as based in Kansas. Fortunately, we can indicate that the dogs are located in Omaha, ensuring they appear in local searches.

Adoption process

The adoption process begins with an application to help ensure a suitable match between the applicant and the pet. We conduct a veterinary check on all applicants to confirm that their current or recent pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. All dogs are adopted with current vaccinations, spayed or neutered (for puppies too young for alteration, a deposit is required, which will be refunded upon proof of the procedure), and microchipped. We have an adoption contract that includes several conditions and requirements, which I can provide upon request. Adoption fees range from $100 to $300, depending on the age of the dog.
