Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue in Rutherfordton, NC
We are a nonprofit, no-kill rescue organization dedicated to transforming our county into a no-kill community. Our mission involves rescuing dogs and puppies, as well as cats and kittens, and ensuring they receive necessary veterinary care, including spaying and neutering. We also provide spay and neuter services for the parents of the litters we rescue to prevent further accidental litters. Unlike some organizations, we do not utilize vouchers; all animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption.

Adoption process
To begin the adoption process, an application must be submitted. Once the application is processed and approved, we will arrange a meeting between the adopter and the pet. If the pet has completed all necessary veterinary care, we can finalize the adoption at that time. If not, we will place the pet on hold and inform the adopter when the pet is ready for adoption. During the finalization of the adoption, the adopter will be required to sign an adoption contract and a health disclaimer. We kindly request that if the adopter finds that the arrangement is not working out, they return the dog to us so we can ensure that the animal is placed in a suitable home.
