Adoption Process
All animals offered for adoption have been or will be spayed or neutered prior to being placed in a new home. For Cats and Kittens, they are tested for FeLV and FIV and are negative unless otherwise indicated. They have been dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, and are current on all age-appropriate vaccinations. For Dogs and Puppies, they are heartworm negative and are on heartworm preventative if they are 10 weeks of age or older. They have also been dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, and are up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fees are as follows: $95 for cats and kittens, $120 for dogs and puppies, and $65 for dogs and cats if they were altered before entering our program. The adoption process consists of the following steps: First, complete our online adoption application. After we receive your application, we will check your references. If we need any additional information, we will reach out to you. Once your application is approved, you can arrange a time to meet the animal and their foster family. This is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If you decide to proceed with the adoption, you will schedule a time to bring your new family member home for a seven-day trial period. At this time, you will need to sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. If during the trial period you feel that the animal is not a suitable match for your family, you can return the animal to 2PawsUp for a full refund. After the trial period concludes, the animal officially becomes part of your family. Should you find yourself unable to keep the animal for any reason, you are required to return them to 2PawsUp. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Two Paws Up NC Shelter Rescue in Raleigh, NC
Who We Are: 2PawsUp was established in early 2007 by a dedicated group of volunteers who initially assisted in transporting animals from the Harnett County Animal Control Facility to prospective adopters unable to visit the shelter. After months of providing this service, we evolved into a full adoption agency and are now a recognized non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in North Carolina. Our passionate team of animal advocates is committed to making a positive impact in the North Carolina community. Our Mission: The mission of 2PawsUp is to rescue animals facing euthanasia in high-kill shelters, provide necessary medical care, and secure loving, permanent homes for every animal. We aim to raise awareness about the issues of overpopulation and high euthanasia rates in North Carolina. Additionally, we strive to break the cycle of animals entering shelters by ensuring every animal in our program is spayed or neutered. Why We Are Different: As a prospective pet owner, you may be seeking an adoption agency that aligns with your values. Each rescue organization offers unique attributes to appeal to different individuals. What sets us apart from other rescue groups includes: - Our primary focus is on shelter pets. While many rescue organizations prioritize stray animals, we concentrate on helping those in immediate danger of euthanasia. Although we do accept animals from other sources, our main priority is high-kill shelters. - Our adoption fees are designed to be as low as possible, varying by animal. We do not charge for services that have not been provided. For instance, if a dog arrives at the shelter already neutered, the cost of that procedure will not be included in the adoption fee. For more details about our adoptions, fees, and the typical process, please refer to our Adoption page.
