About this shelter
AnimalKind in Raleigh, NC
AnimalKind is an animal shelter located in Raleigh, North Carolina, in Wake County, about 1 mile southeast of the city, with 18 other animal shelters and rescues also serving Wake County. The organization is focused on addressing pet overpopulation in North Carolina and is opening the AnimalKind Community Veterinary Clinic in the greater Raleigh area by the end of 2026, which will provide high-quality, affordable spay/neuter services, preventive care, and essential wellness services delivered by licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians. AnimalKind also runs ReTails, a Raleigh thrift store that has operated for more than 20 years and directly supports the organization's work. Proceeds from shopping, donating, or volunteering at ReTails help fund the new clinic and AnimalKind's broader mission of keeping pets healthy and in their homes.
