Additionally, there is a fee of $60.00 for neutering male cats or $75.00 for spaying female cats. For already altered dogs and puppies, the adoption fee is $25.00. This includes the DA2PP and Bordetella vaccines, deworming, and a microchip. There is an additional $12.00 for a rabies vaccine voucher and a licensing fee, which varies by location. For dogs and puppies that have not yet been altered, the adoption fee is $25.00, covering the DA2PP and Bordetella vaccines, deworming, and a microchip. The additional costs include a $15.00 rabies vaccine and a licensing fee, plus the spay/neuter surgery fee, which is based on the weight and gender of the animal: $100.00 for males under 65 pounds, $125.00 for males over 65 pounds or females under 65 pounds, and $150.00 for females over 65 pounds. The licensing fees for dogs and puppies over four months old are as follows: - City of Livermore residents: $5.50 - City of Pleasanton residents: $3.50 - City of Dublin residents: $6.00 - Unincorporated Alameda County residents: $6.00 The adoption fee for rabbits and pocket pets is $25.00. Other Policies: All dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens must be altered before they can go home with you. If the pet you adopt is not yet altered, we will schedule an appointment for the surgery at a neighboring spay/neuter clinic at the time of adoption, meaning that not all pets will be able to go home the same day. For dog adoptions where there is already a dog in the home, a mandatory dog introduction must take place before we can proceed with the adoption. If you are adopting a dog and have a cat at home, please inform us beforehand so we can conduct a cat test with the new dog. We do not place holds on any pets. Although we update our web listings frequently, we recommend calling the shelter to confirm the availability of a pet you are interested in. We accept payments in the form of exact change cash, money orders, or checks with a valid ID and the current address printed on the check. We do not accept credit or debit cards, and business checks or out-of-state checks cannot be accepted. If paying by cash, please note that we may not always be able to provide change.

East County Animal Shelter in Dublin, CA

The East County Animal Shelter is responsible for receiving and housing stray animals found within our jurisdiction, which includes Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, and unincorporated areas of Alameda County. Our main goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners. However, pets that remain unclaimed and are deemed adoptable will be made available for adoption to new families. The shelter is managed by the Animal Control division of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, which provides animal control field services for Dublin and the unincorporated areas of Alameda County. If you have found a lost pet, you can contact our field services dispatch at 510-667-7763. Please be aware that we do not list pets as available for adoption until their stray hold period has concluded. Consequently, there are often more pets available for viewing at the shelter than those currently listed online. All pets displayed online have completed their legal stray hold and are available for adoption.
