Seal Beach Animal Care Center (SBACC) is located in Seal Beach, California, in Orange County, roughly 20 miles northwest of Los Angeles, and is the only animal shelter in the city of Seal Beach itself, sitting alongside 37 other animal shelters and rescues across Orange County. Founded in 1986 by a group of concerned local citizens, SBACC operates as a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats, run by a team of over 100 volunteers and 20 staff members who have collectively saved more than 20,000 animals over the past 38 years. The shelter is a California 501(c)3 nonprofit, situated next to the Seal Beach Police Station, and directs the largest share of donations straight toward the care of its dogs and cats.
