Dorothy O'Connor Pet Adoption Center in VICTORIA, TX

Dorothy Hanna O'Connor (1907-1992) was a leading figure in the care of dogs and cats in Victoria. In 1963, she founded the Six Flags Humane Society, which was the first animal rescue shelter in the community. The Dorothy H. O’Connor Pet Adoption Center, named in her honor, continues her legacy by promoting the humane treatment of dogs and cats and facilitating their adoption into loving homes for a new generation of Victoria County residents. The center offers a nurturing environment for homeless animals, focusing on finding adoptive families for dogs and cats.
