Greyhound Rescue of N. E., Inc. is a non-profit rescue organization based in Mendon, Massachusetts, dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for retired greyhounds. Located in Worcester County, it operates alongside 16 other animal shelters and rescues in the county and sits about 7 miles south of Woonsocket, RI. The organization has been saving needy dogs for over 20 years; it has closed its own kennel in Mendon and now leases space at Greyhound Friends' kennel in Hopkinton. In addition to retired racing greyhounds, it has formed partnerships to bring in Irish greyhounds, Galgos and Podencos from Portugal, and also rescues needy mixed-breed dogs from the southern United States that would otherwise have nowhere to go.
