Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) is a rescue organization based in Ridgefield, Connecticut, located about 15 miles south of Norwalk. It is home to the Donofrio Family Animal Shelter, where it has spent over 25 years caring for cats and dogs, helping more than 6,000 animals find safety, medical care, and permanent homes. ROAR runs an adoption program for dogs and cats that requires an appointment, a visit with the animals, and a completed application, along with a foster program and other community services like a pet pantry and surrender assistance. The shelter is open Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with additional evening hours from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and Friday.
