About this shelter

Paws Across Pittsburgh Animal Rescue in Tarentum, PA

Paws Across Pittsburgh Animal Rescue is located in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, about 15 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, and is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, seven days a week. This rescue organization places dogs and cats, and operates on a foster-home basis rather than through a central shelter facility. Adoption fees include all age-appropriate vaccinations, a 4DX test for dogs over six months, microchipping, and spay/neuter, with prospective adopters required to live within reasonable driving distance of Pittsburgh, preferably in Western Pennsylvania, since home visits are conducted prior to adoption. Applications are reviewed carefully, as the rescue typically receives many applicants for each animal and works to match each pet with the best possible home.
