About this shelter

Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue in New Kensington, PA

Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue is a rescue organization located in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, about 15 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, and is open daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Its mission is to provide rescue, medical, and sanctuary services to guinea pigs, along with boarding, grooming, bonding, respite, and hospice care for cavies. Adoptions are arranged through the Wheek Care website, Petfinder, and local community events, and the rescue also relies on foster homes for guinea pigs needing socialization, rehabilitation, or medical care. Beyond direct animal care, Wheek Care is committed to public education, offering guidance on proper guinea pig housing, diet, and health to help potential adopters and current owners make informed decisions.
