About this shelter

Precious Paws Animal Rescue in Franklin, PA

Precious Paws Animal Rescue is a rescue organization located in Franklin, Pennsylvania, about 50 miles north of Erie. Founded in 2001 as a 501(c)3 non-profit, Precious Paws is dedicated to educating the public about proper pet care, preventing cruelty to animals, managing feral cat populations, offering low-cost spay/neuter services, and placing adoptable animals in forever homes. The organization's pet selection changes frequently, and it maintains a list of available dogs from owners looking to rehome their pets while also networking with other rescues to help families find the right pet. Precious Paws is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and relies on foster homes and volunteers for activities such as grant writing, feral cat trapping, adoption counseling, and post-adoption follow-up.

Adopting from Precious Paws Animal Rescue

Adoption process

Interested adopters complete a dog or cat adoption application by email, are screened for suitability with references checked, and then have a home visit to meet the pet; approved adopters get conditional adoptions with post-adoption follow-up, and all animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and tested (cats for feline leukemia/FIV/heartworm, dogs for heartworm and Lyme disease) before adoption.
