Lakeshore Humane Society is a nonprofit, all-volunteer humane society located in Dunkirk, New York, about 35 miles northeast of Buffalo. The organization is dedicated to helping protect the welfare of all animals and providing humane education to the community, focusing its adoption efforts on dogs and cats. Volunteers form the backbone of its operation, helping walk dogs, socialize cats, staff adoption events and fundraisers, and foster animals in need. The shelter is open to the public on Wednesdays from 6:00–8:00 PM and Saturdays from 12:00–3:00 PM.
