Adoption Process

Adopters can visit during Open Adoption Hours (Saturdays 12-3pm and Wednesdays 6-8pm) or schedule an individual appointment by calling and leaving a message; adoption fees apply for cats and dogs (with reduced rates for kittens/puppies and seniors), payable by cash, check, or credit card.

Lakeshore Humane Society in Fredonia, NY

Lakeshore Humane Society is a non-profit, all-volunteer humane society based in Fredonia, New York, in Chautauqua County, about 40 miles northeast of Buffalo. It is dedicated to helping protect the welfare of all animals and providing humane education to the community, focusing its adoption efforts on dogs and cats. Volunteers form the backbone of its operation, helping walk dogs, socialize cats, staff adoption events and fundraisers, and foster animals in need. Two other animal shelters or rescues also serve Chautauqua County alongside Lakeshore Humane Society.
