Wayne County Dog Shelter is located at 5694 Burbank Road in Wooster, Ohio, about 25 miles northeast of Akron. As a dog rescue, the shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00–5:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. The shelter offers adoptable dogs, dog licensing, a lost-and-found service for dogs found running loose in Wayne County, and a pet supply pantry, along with volunteer and foster programs for the community. In 2026 it was named a recipient of the Ohio Pet Fund Grant, which helps cover the cost of spaying and neutering dogs in Wayne County.
