Wayne County Humane Society in Wooster, OH
The Wayne County Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter in Wooster, Ohio, that has been helping homeless pets since 1973, and it's one of two animal shelters or rescues serving Wayne County. Located about 30 miles northeast of Akron, its mission is to find committed, permanent homes for companion animals, reduce companion animal overpopulation, and promote humane values through education and community outreach. The shelter maintains a no-kill philosophy for adoptable animals, offering quality veterinary care and spay/neuter services before placing pets into permanent homes, while relying on donations and volunteers to sustain its work. It also runs a Rascal Unit and community cat TNR program to support affordable spay/neuter and control local pet overpopulation.
