Newaygo County Animal Shelter (NCAS) is located in White Cloud, Michigan, about 40 miles south of Grand Rapids, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The shelter provides care and housing for animals brought in as strays or surrenders from around the county, working to reunite pets with their owners, adopt them out as family pets, or transfer them to rescues for rehoming throughout Michigan and beyond. Dogs are adopted for a $90 fee and cats for $65, with all animals spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and ticks, dewormed, and tested for heartworm or FIV/FeLV before going to their new homes. The shelter relies on donations and volunteers to support its work and welcomes community members to stop in during business hours to learn how they can help.
