Lake Haven is a private, non-profit animal rescue shelter operated entirely by volunteers. Our mission is to care for and facilitate the adoption of homeless and injured dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies in the West Michigan region. Our goals include providing temporary shelter for homeless animals, ensuring that all animals receive necessary medical care upon arrival, offering spay and neuter services through local veterinarians, placing animals in loving and responsible adoptive homes, and educating pet owners and the community about proper animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Our services encompass animal rescue, essential medical care, temporary shelter, adoption, and a low-cost spay and neuter program.

Adoption process

Lake Haven Rescue offers an online adoption process accessible at www.lakehavenrescue.org/preap.htm. The adoption fees are as follows: For cats and kittens, adult cats range from $50 to $150, all kittens are priced between $75 and $150, and barn cats are available for $25. For dogs and puppies, mixed breeds have an adoption fee of $150 to $250, while purebred and designer breeds range from $250 to $300.

Service area: We primarily serve Kent, Newaygo, and Ottawa counties in Michigan. However, we are open to assisting anyone in the United States who qualifies and is willing to travel to Michigan to pick up their pet.
