Animal Rescue Coalition (ARC) is a rescue organization located in Big Rapids, Michigan, about 50 miles south of Grand Rapids, and serves as Mecosta County's only animal shelter. It was founded in 2011 by a group of concerned animal lovers dedicated to improving the lives of the county's dogs and cats. The facility houses both dogs and cats, offering two outdoor exercise areas for dogs and two open, low-stress areas for cats, with volunteers spending time with each animal to keep them comfortable and ready for adoption. ARC is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, Thursday 5:00–7:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM–1:00 PM.
