Kalamazoo Animal Rescue in Portage, MI

Kalamazoo Animal Rescue is a rescue organization located in Portage, Michigan, about 50 miles north of Grand Rapids. It is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that has been rescuing dogs and cats in Southwest Michigan for over 30 years, taking in hundreds of dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens each year and providing them with basic necessities and care while seeking their forever homes. In addition to adoption services, the organization runs a low-cost wellness clinic in partnership with a local veterinarian and operates an active spay and neuter program, having spayed and neutered 1,188 animals in 2024 to help combat pet overpopulation. Walk-in shelter hours are Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
