Animal Rescue Project — The Charles and Lynn Zhang Animal Rescue Center is a rescue organization located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, about 50 miles north of Grand Rapids. The organization focuses on saving at-risk pets from pound facilities and overcrowded shelters, rescuing homeless dogs and cats one at a time, providing needed medical care and safe temporary homes, and placing them through responsible adoption services into loving, lifelong families. It also works to raise awareness and promote humane, compassionate treatment of animals in the community. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 12:00–7:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM–5:00 PM.
