As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it also runs low-cost wellness clinics offering annual exams, core vaccines, and routine blood testing, and it operates a spay/neuter program that fixed 1,188 animals in 2024 to help curb pet overpopulation in Kalamazoo. Its adoption philosophy centers on the idea that adopting one animal saves two lives, since each adoption opens space for another animal in need.
