About this shelter

German Shepherd Rescue of Neng in Wayland, MA

German Shepherd Rescue of New England is a foster-based rescue organization located in Wayland, Massachusetts, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and about 25 miles southeast of Norwalk, CT. The organization is dedicated to placing German Shepherd Dogs in need, celebrating 30 years of what it calls a legacy of loyalty, love, and life saving. Dogs are cared for in foster homes while awaiting adoption, and prospective adopters are matched to the foster dog that best fits their family through the rescue's adoption requirements and process. The group relies on donations, memberships, fostering, and volunteer support to continue its rescue work.

Adoption process

Prospective adopters must first speak with an Adoption Hotline Volunteer to review requirements, then submit an application; if accepted, a home visit is conducted, followed by a visitation to meet a matched foster dog, and finally an adoption donation ($450 for adult dogs, $550 for puppies, $250 for seniors/special needs) completes the adoption.
