Adoption Process

Visit the Audrey Jones Beck Adoption Center in person to view adoptable animals, bring proof of address and a valid ID/driver's license, then speak with an adoption counselor to finalize the adoption once you've chosen a pet.

Houston Humane Society is a nonprofit animal shelter located in Houston, Texas, roughly 10 miles north of the city at its main campus on Almeda Rd. Its vision is to lead the way in creating a more humane Greater Houston, where every pet is safe in a loving home and every wild animal thrives in its natural habitat, and it works to end animal cruelty, abuse, and pet overpopulation throughout Houston, Sugar Land, and the greater Houston metro area. The organization offers adoption of dogs, cats, and other animals, along with a veterinary clinic providing spay/neuter and other medical services, plus volunteer, foster, and wildlife rehabilitation programs. It is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
