About this shelter

Admissions Houston Humane Society in Houston, TX

The Houston Humane Society is a humane society located in Houston, Texas, open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and situated approximately 10 miles north of Houston, TX. HHS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and operates as a managed intake shelter, accepting pets from the public as space allows rather than on demand. It does not euthanize healthy or adoptable animals for lack of space and places no time limits on animals waiting for adoption, with surrender requests handled on a first come, first served basis by animal type and size. The shelter does not accept stray animals, directing those cases instead to local animal services for reunification with owners.
