Adoption Process

A prospective adopter is required to complete an application. Upon approval, all family members must attend a meet and greet. If it is determined that the match is suitable, an adoption contract will need to be signed.

We serve surrounding towns in Pennsylvania and also operate a foster-based program in New Jersey that covers Northern and Central New Jersey.

South Hills Pet Rescue & Rehabilitation Resort in South Park, PA

We are a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various locations, including out-of-state shelters. Our volunteers based in New Jersey focus on pulling dogs from high-kill shelters within the state. South Hills was established in 2014 by Ashley Rittle and Nick Ferraro. Nick Ferraro is a highly regarded and experienced trainer who not only trains our rescue dogs but also provides training for dogs from other rescues. Our mission is to provide an alternative to euthanasia for dogs in need.
