Power Pups Rescue is a superhero-themed 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue located in Ojai, California. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals in need. Operating entirely through a foster-based model, we do not maintain public kennels and are available by appointment only. We hold the belief that all dogs are superheroes in search of their perfect human companion. Recognizing the importance of training in enhancing the quality of rescue efforts, every dog in our care undergoes an evaluation and is placed on a tailored training plan. This plan is designed to be followed by our staff, fosters, and volunteers, and it is shared with adopters, who also receive a complimentary follow-up session to assist them as they bond with their new pet. Our work is driven by the conviction that education is essential to saving every animal.

Adoption process

The adoption process includes several steps. First, interested individuals must complete an adoption application. Next, a virtual interview will be conducted, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. After the interview, a meet and greet can be scheduled by appointment only. A home check will also be carried out virtually during the pandemic. There is a $300 adoption fee, and adopters must sign an adoption agreement. All dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Additionally, each adopter will receive one free virtual training session. Finally, there will be a follow-up to ensure the microchip transfer and licensing are confirmed.

Service area: We serve Southern California, which includes, but is not limited to, Ventura County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, Santa Barbara County, and San Luis Obispo County.
