Adoption Process

We have an adoption agreement that outlines the responsibilities and level of care required from adopters, including the necessity of spaying or neutering, particularly for puppies that have not yet undergone the procedure. In most cases, we ensure that our dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. If adopters fail to meet our requirements, we reserve the right to reclaim the dog. We are committed to taking back any of our rescues if an adopter is unable to keep a dog for any reason. Additionally, we request a donation or fee to help cover our costs. The adoption fee varies based on the specific expenses associated with each dog, but we have a maximum fee of $300. We also welcome any additional donations from adopters who wish to contribute further.

Service Areas

We primarily serve northern California, including counties such as Sonoma, Napa, Lake, and Mendocino. Additionally, we frequently cover central California areas, including Sacramento, Stockton, Merced, and Modesto.

Herd It Through The Grapevine in Santa Rosa, CA

Our mission is to rescue, care for, and rehabilitate unwanted, abused, and neglected herding breed dogs, with a particular emphasis on Australian Cattle Dogs and Border Collies. We aim to find these dogs permanent placements in suitable, loving homes while also educating the public about the unique characteristics and needs of herding breeds.
