East Coast Maine Coon Rescue in Keansburg, NJ

East Coast Maine Coon Rescue (ECMCR) is a dedicated organization of volunteers focused on rescuing abandoned Maine Coon cats and placing them in loving homes. Our mission includes the following objectives: First, we aim to rescue abused, abandoned, surrendered, and homeless Maine Coon cats, regardless of whether they are registered. We also provide carefully screened foster homes to ensure a safe environment for these cats. Additionally, we assist in identifying Maine Coon and Maine Coon mix cats that end up in shelters. We serve as a liaison between shelters, animal control, and disaster agencies to facilitate communication and support. Furthermore, we ensure that all Maine Coon and Maine Coon mix cats placed through our organization or into our foster homes receive appropriate medical care, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and testing for FeLV and FIV. We prioritize educating potential adopters about the Maine Coon breed and notify breeders when a cat from their cattery requires assistance. Our organization collaborates with other rescue groups to share resources effectively. We also facilitate the transportation of Maine Coon and Maine Coon mix cats to their temporary foster homes or permanent residences. Following a successful rescue, we remain available for support as needed. Lastly, we are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership within the community.
