Adoption Process
Most adoptions take place at Petsmart in Columbus, GA. Adoption fees range from $50 to $400, depending on the care and support provided for the animal. Each adoption requires an application, which must be approved by our staff. Once the application is approved, the adoption can proceed.

Claws and Paws Animal Rescue of Marion County was established and incorporated on December 20, 2005. Currently, Paws and Claws adheres to a no-kill policy, meaning we do not euthanize animals for population control. Instead, we concentrate on spaying and neutering to help reduce pet overpopulation. As a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers, we rely on donations, fundraising events, and adoption fees to support our mission. We welcome any assistance, whether through bake sales, car washes, or other fundraising activities. If you are interested in organizing an event, please reach out to us for support. We also have donation containers at various local businesses and accept aluminum cans and newspapers. For those considering a substantial cash donation for tax purposes, we can provide the necessary documentation. Looking ahead, our ultimate goal is to eliminate homelessness for dogs and cats in our county. We believe that with time and effective education in our schools and community regarding spaying and neutering, residents can learn to care for animals more responsibly, thereby preventing the overpopulation of unwanted pets.
