Adoption Process
We typically adopt out fully vetted cats and older kittens, but we are exploring new options. Since the onset of COVID-19, we have taken in over 140 cats, which has exceeded our capacity. We currently have cats in various locations and many new foster caregivers, several of whom plan to adopt once the cats are spayed or neutered.

We primarily serve Ohio County and Muhlenberg County, with additional assistance available in some surrounding counties and various locations throughout Kentucky.

We have been dedicated to our mission for over eight years and continue to adapt our approach. Our primary objective is to prevent cats from entering shelters, where they risk illness, death, or euthanasia. In the past, we would hold cats until they were three to four months old, spay or neuter them, and then transfer them to larger rescues for adoption through pet stores. However, we found that many of the cats we receive do not thrive in store environments or tend to be skittish. As a result, we shifted our focus to finding quality homes for these cats with experienced owners. Unfortunately, the situation has worsened; local shelters have ceased intakes since early March due to the pandemic, leading to an increase in abandoned cats giving birth and nursing outdoors in unsafe conditions. This situation is heartbreaking. With many new foster homes stepping up, we recognized it was time for our organization to expand. However, my records are currently disorganized, and I urgently need assistance.
