Adoption Process
The adoption process involves several steps, including the submission of three unrelated personal references, a veterinary check, and a home visit. Applicants are paired with a dog that suits their living situation and experience. After a successful meet and greet, an adoption contract is signed. Adoption fees vary between $250 and $450, depending on the age of the dog.

Heartland German Shepherd Rescue in Gretna, NE
We are a small, local non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing German Shepherd dogs that have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Our mission is to rehabilitate these dogs and find them permanent homes. We operate without a physical facility; instead, our dogs are cared for in approved foster homes until they are adopted.
