H. F. Help, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue established in the early 1980s by Mary and Wes Collins. Based in Dorchester County, we serve the lowcountry region and also provide assistance for animals from Colleton and Orangeburg Counties.

Adoption process

When you find the perfect pet that you cannot live without, you will need to complete an adoption application. This application requires information about any pets you have owned in the past and currently, details about your veterinarian, and information about your family. This process helps us match one of our animals with your family. You will also need to provide proper identification and, if you are a renter, confirmation from your landlord that pets are allowed. Our adoption fees generally range from $150 to $200, which covers all veterinary care, spaying or neutering, and a microchip. We offer discounts for returning adopters and for those adopting senior pets.

Service area: The organization serves the Lowcountry area, including Summerville, Jedburg, and Ladson, as well as Dorchester County, Colleton County, and Orangeburg County.
