Adoption Process

Our adoption process involves completing an application and an adoption agreement, followed by a home visit. The adoption fees are $125 for one cat or $200 for two cats. We require that if the adopter can no longer keep the cat, it must be returned to us. Additionally, we do not allow declawing and the cats must be kept indoors only.

Service Areas

We serve the cities of Huntsville and Madison, as well as the surrounding areas in Limestone and Madison Counties. Additionally, we assist clients in neighboring counties as needed, depending on our capacity.

Forgotten Felines Inc in Capshaw, AL

We began many years ago as a trap-neuter-return (TNR) organization focused on feral cats. Over time, we have also encountered numerous frightened and abandoned domestic animals. At the outset, feral cats in our community lacked advocates. Fortunately, we have developed a partnership with local animal control, which has led to a significant change in their approach to feral animals, as they no longer euthanize all of them. However, there remains a pressing issue with the large number of breeding feral and domestic animals that require assistance to prevent unnecessary reproduction. This situation often arises from well-meaning individuals who feed stray cats, only to realize over time that there is a growing problem. It may also involve elderly individuals who are unable to afford veterinary care for their pets. Our organization not only advocates for these animals but also provides support to the people who care for them. We facilitate the adoption of animals that are suitable for homes and seek specialized placements for those that are more challenging to adopt.
