Morgan County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter located in Somerville, Alabama, within Morgan County, about 20 miles northeast of Huntsville, AL. Two other animal shelters or rescues also operate within Morgan County. Established in 2004, it was the first no-kill organization in North Alabama, and its facility, completed in 2010, sits on more than eight acres of rural land between Somerville and Hartselle. The shelter is entirely volunteer-run and, since 2024, has expanded its mission beyond animal rescue to also help local residents keep and care for their pets during hard times, alongside hosting adoption events and free basic vaccination clinics.
