Located about 40 miles north of Davenport, Iowa, the shelter was founded in 2000 by a group of caring citizens who wanted to help animals in need and operates as a registered 501(c)(3) organization with a mission of "Finding Homes with a Heart." It cares for and places both cats and dogs, and it also runs a TNR (trap-neuter-return) program for community cats. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
