Founded in 2005, A.R.F. is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that takes in homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens on death row in shelters, as well as owner surrenders and strays, and works to find them loving forever homes. Animals are placed in foster homes for socialization and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for FeLV or heartworm, and micro-chipped before adoption, with 100 percent of donations going directly toward helping animals. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and the shelter sits about 40 miles south of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
