SpokAnimal C.A.R.E. is an animal shelter located in Spokane, Washington, roughly 2 miles west of Spokane, within Spokane County, where it is one of 13 animal shelters and rescues serving the area alongside 12 others. Known as Eastern Washington's largest humane society for adoptions, it has been answering the call to help animals and individuals in the community for 43 years, with a mission to promote and preserve the human-companion animal bond and a vision of saving lives by caring for and finding loving homes for homeless pets. The shelter places dogs and cats up for adoption through appointment-based visits at its facility as well as through local PetSmart and Petco adoption centers and the Kitty Cantina, and it reports a 95.5% live-save rate, one of the highest in the nation for a shelter of its size and scope. Beyond adoptions, SpokAnimal supports the community through programs like a pet food bank, clinical services, and initiatives such as Farm Livin', Guardian Angel, and Pets 2 Vets.
