Rescue Every Dog - R.E.D. Mason County Chapter is a dog rescue based in Belfair, Washington, in Mason County, about 25 miles southeast of Tacoma. Despite its name, R.E.D. also helps cats, taking in feral kittens and other companion animals and placing them into adoptive homes. The rescue runs the RED Ark project, which provides care, vaccines, microchipping, and spay/neuter accessibility to its own animals as well as to other rescues and the community, and it also operates Project: Call Home, an effort to boost the percentage of shelter dogs and cats that arrive with identification. R.E.D. relies entirely on donations and volunteers to keep its lifesaving work going, and it operates alongside five other animal shelters and rescues located in Mason County, WA.
