Pigs Peace Sanctuary in Stanwood, WA

Pigs Peace Sanctuary is a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal shelter located in Stanwood, Washington, roughly one hour north of Seattle and about 20 miles southeast of Everett, in Snohomish County, where 15 other animal shelters and rescues also operate. The sanctuary is dedicated to providing a safe home for unwanted, abused, or neglected animals, with a special focus on pigs—many of them potbellied pigs rescued from hoarding situations, impulse purchases, or farms—while also spreading a message of compassion and respect for all animals. Founder Judy Woods and the sanctuary care for the pigs as lifelong friends rather than livestock, offering them permanent refuge instead of processing them for meat.
