Concern for Animals is an Olympia, Washington animal shelter located in Thurston County, roughly 25 miles northeast of Tacoma, and one of 8 other animal shelters and rescues also serving Thurston County. Founded in 1980, it is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has served thousands of local pets by providing financial assistance for veterinary care and running a weekly pet food bank, helping keep pets safe, healthy, and in their homes. It proudly serves Thurston, Mason, Lewis, and Grays Harbor Counties, working with more than 35 local veterinary and grooming partners to carry out its programs. Beyond direct assistance, Concern for Animals serves as a community hub for animal welfare information and resources for residents throughout the region.
