About this shelter
Paws in the city in Dallas, TX
Paws in the City is an animal shelter in Dallas, Texas, located in Dallas County, where 52 other animal shelters and rescues also operate, about 2 miles south of Dallas. Its guiding philosophy is that "every animal we rescue is forever rescued — they will never return to a shelter." The organization rescues and rehomes dogs of many breeds and mixes, from small Chihuahuas to larger breeds like Great Pyrenees, using a multi-step adoption process that includes an application, a virtual meeting, a meet-and-greet with the dog and foster, an in-person meeting, and a signed contract. The group also relies on fostering and volunteering, and hosts community events such as its monthly "Pups & Pints" gathering at 3 Nations Brewing in Carrollton, Texas.
