Dorchester Paws, previously known as Frances R. Willis SPCA, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the lives of animals in Dorchester County, South Carolina. As the only open-admission shelter in the county, Dorchester Paws serves several towns, including Rosinville, Ridgeville, Oakbrook, St. George, Summerville, and Grover. In collaboration with Dorchester Code Enforcement, the organization accepts all lost, abandoned, and abused animals, providing them with food, shelter, and medical care until they are adopted into permanent homes.

Adoption process

Adoption fees differ based on the age and type of animal. A valid photo ID is required for adoption. For dogs, the fees are as follows: - Puppies under 7 months cost $350. - Dogs aged between 7 months and 6 years are $175. - Senior dogs over 6 years are $60. For cats, the fees are: - Kittens under 7 months are $100. - Adult cats aged between 7 months and 6 years are $75. - Senior cats, as well as those with FeLV, FIV+, and barn cats, are available for $25.
