Adoption Process

To adopt a pet from our organization, please follow these steps: 1. Start by completing an adoption application. This form can be found on our website or obtained from our facility. 2. After submitting your application, our team will review it and may contact you for further information to ensure a good match. 3. If your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet with the pet you are interested in. This allows you to spend time with the animal and assess compatibility. 4. Once you decide to move forward with the adoption, you will need to sign an adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover the costs of care for our animals. 5. Finally, we will provide you with information regarding the pet's care and any necessary follow-up procedures. We appreciate your interest in adopting a pet and look forward to helping you find a loving companion.

Carbon County Friends of Animals in Jim Thorpe, PA

Carbon County Friends of Animals is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating animal suffering by providing shelter and finding homes for unwanted pets. We advocate for low-cost spaying and neutering and offer educational outreach on pet welfare. Established in 1997 in response to the urgent need for cat sheltering in our county, we operate independently and do not receive funding from Carbon County or any government agency. In contrast to the county-run Carbon County Shelter, which is funded by the government and focuses on stray dogs, our organization finances all operating, maintenance, and care expenses through fundraising and donations. Our primary goal is to shelter as many cats as possible while avoiding euthanasia as a means of population control. We are immensely grateful for the support and contributions from our generous donors.
