Blue Mountain Animal Rescue Society is a rescue organization based in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, about 15 miles southeast of Allentown, and is open Monday 9:00 AM–8:00 PM, Tuesday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM, Wednesday 9:00 AM–7:00 AM, and Thursday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), BMARS is supported by business and community partners and concerned citizens throughout Carbon County and surrounding areas, and it sponsors and supports the Humane Society Police Officers who work to prevent and address animal abuse, neglect, and cruelty within Carbon County. The organization provides care, protection, and shelter to animals that are lost, injured, mistreated, or abandoned, following a no-kill approach to combating domestic animal overpopulation. Beyond sheltering, BMARS offers programs such as a food bank, low-cost spay/neuter resources, rabies clinics, an emergency vet fund, a senior-for-senior adoption program, foster care for animals with seizures or diabetes, and feral cat shelter housing, while also collaborating with other rescues through networking efforts.
