Founded in 1992 by three private rescuers with a shared vision, ARPH is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization run entirely by volunteers dedicated to the Australian Shepherd breed. Its mission is to rescue Australian Shepherds and place them into loving, caring, and permanent homes, while educating the public about all aspects of owning an Australian Shepherd. The organization relies on the generosity of supporters to help the hundreds of Aussies needing assistance each year.

Applicants must complete an Adoption Application, which is reviewed by a regional Rescue Representative who checks references, discusses the application, and may require a home check; once approved, the representative helps match the applicant with an available dog, and dogs are not shipped to adopters.
